Welcome to the Justice for Juniors section of our site!
Justice for Juniors focuses on decreasing the high juvenile recidivism rate in the District. According to the most recent DYRS report, over 1,000 juveniles are committed every day in D.C. and over half of those individuals are not first time offenders. We find those statistics troubling and we are committed to bringing down those numbers through detention visits, shelter meetings, and on-campus tutoring.
During the Fall 2012 semester we will be visiting a detention center on Mondays and Tuesdays. We meet in the Marvin center at 5pm and we return at around 7pm. If you are interested in learning more please email us or stop by our Fall 2012 orientation in the Marvin Center (see orientation dates & times here).
